*****REALM FEEL FREE TO PRETTY THIS UP !

These notes are mostly just the macros that you will need to ref. For all of the actual rules read the GBPL key rules thread and GBPL rules thread. If you don't know already you can ?savemacro Regular for your own macros and then once u set these up ?savemacro GBPL, then use ?loadmacro " " to get them back. All the *goto macros are for SvD, and will be changed when a different map goes up.

Start of game: At the scheduled match time you should macro something like “Welcome to the GBPL, captains you have 4 minutes to submit your line-ups.” You also can make macros that briefly explain the Faceoff, Cutline, and Losers ball if you choose to display at the beginning of each match. I’m not good at making things concise so if anyone wants to come up with four good macros for this then post here please. If a team needs to delay then they can have 5 minutes of delay time a piece. If nobody shows at the end of 5 minutes then there will be another 5 minutes of delay which we call the “ref delay.” At the end of this if there still aren’t enough players the other team can decide whether or not to use their delay. Hopefully this system will prevent really long delays from occurring.
*timer 5

Faceoff: When the timer reaches 4 minutes you need to:
*restart
/*goto 551, 231
/*goto 551, 436
Wait for the timer to expire and make sure all players are in place for the faceoff, then:
*wipe all
*getball (in center)
*timer 15
You will repeat this for games 2 and 3 (if needed). In between games after the new timer is set announce the score of the game and match.

Cut line: Make sure you are watching for when the cut line is active and announcing it. If a team violates it make sure that you summon the ball to the middle of the defensive cutline where the violation occurred. If they violate the rule about picking up the ball when it is *getballed then make sure you *getball to the next line closer to the goal of the team awarded the ball.

Losers ball: Make sure after every goal to *getball in the middle of the cutline next to the goal that was just scored on. After this watch for the team who scored to violate by picking the ball up or getting specialed into it.

End of game:
At the end of the game do not only just wait for the timer to expire but it there is a possible shot on the goal be watching closely because if they get a shot off before the timer expires and it goes in then it WILL count. Maybe we will see some buzzer beaters this season. Once the timer expires or a buzzer beater is attempted then you will:

*end game
*timer 4 (if there is no overtime period required) for the break in between games
Escapeà Chartsà Score Online Playersà Left Click on MVP score à click export to file à type a file name in some sort of recognizable format per game: “gbplw1DGvPTg1"
*arena Captains please submit your line-ups for the next game.

If overtime is needed:
1st make sure you have the stats from the regulation game.

Overtime gives each squad 3 chances at a goal in 4 vs 4 OvD battles, if it is tied afterwards then there is a snake style OvD until a winner prevails.

Get the roster from each captain for the overtime players.

Order of macros is as follows:

*restart
/*goto 820, 304 (suns offense)
/*goto 889, 329 (devils defense)
/*goto 284, 329 (devils offense)
/*goto 207, 331 (suns defense)

When the players are in place you:
*wipe all
*getball (behind the offensive players right in front of the triple wall that is there)
*timer 1

After each try you will repeat this, 3 times for each squad. If it is clear the other team has no chance to recover and score you will *timer 0 and restart it to save time, and of course if a team scores before the timer you will also *timer 0 and restart it.

In the first week I didn’t keep track of how many goals there were and who scored/assisted but I’m putting a poll up to ask if we should keep track of anything in OT besides who won.

Lag: Due to the high level of attention needed for reffing these games and lack of refs lag checks will be strictly if the player being lag checked is affecting the ball in any way. So just continue watching the ball and look for that player around it. It is totally up to the ref whether their lag is bad enough to affect the game (ballwise) in any way.

This concludes the ref notes, hopefully I didn't make them too hard to understand.

IMPORTANT:
If you are using my bot/helper utility, make sure you have downloaded the latest version -- v1.0.17 -- as I have uploaded a number of major revisions.
IT IS NOW CAPABLE OF SETTING UP PLAYOFFS (the start of games) AS WELL.

To check which version you are currently using simply run the program and it should say it in the titlebar of the window.

Also, make sure you are well acquainted with how it works and have actually tried it out to understand what it does and does not do and how it does it. If there are any important issues please get back to me as soon as possible. Apart from that there will be no major updates until at least next week. If you have any (reasonable) suggestions, feel free to post them as well.

Get the latest version from: http://random.volv.net/igbl/GBPL_Ref.zip
