Welcome to GBPL – This will be the unofficial rules page of the league and later an official page will be made, likely by Saturday night once everything is read and any errors or bad policies abolished.

The inaugural season of GBPL will be 7 weeks long. It will consist of 8 squads that will play each squad once over the course of a four week regular season, and then a one week playoff tournament. Every squad will make it into the playoffs and have a chance to win it all in this high flying crazy pub festival of a league.

Salary, Cap, and squad rules:

The signing period will begin today and end Sunday at 4pm EST time.
In order to sign players captains will need to use the sign up page in the forums.
Every captain must sign at least 10 players, making roster total at least 11, with a maximum of 12 players.

The captain himself will count as part of the salary cap.

Everyone who has signed up but doesn’t sign with a team will be placed on one.
Each player who shows to a match will be played by the captain of his/her team in at least one game.

Each captain will designate 3 assistant captains who will be in charge in case of his/her absence.

Captains if you are not here to try to make this league work then withdraw as a captain now, or you will be put down later on.

Any problems that may arise as far as attendance or anything of that sort may be dealt with on a case by case basis. "nt's" or non-team players may be allowed at my or the refs discretion.

Gameplay & Rules:

- Games will be played at a default 6 vs 6 with the option to go up to 8 vs 8 whenever both captains agree on it in the ref chat before the match, or in between games. This will not be allowed to be done in the middle of games as reffing is involved enough as it is.

- The matches will be a best of 3 contest with each game running 15 minutes with an overtime 3v3 offense versus defense tiebreaker.

- At the beginning of each game the ref will start the game and then summon the ball off the map. Then he will summon each player to two designated spots in the center of the map. The players will be required to sit against a wall there until the ball is summoned directly in the center of them. Once the players are set the ref will *wipe all, *getball, and *timer 15 so the game will be on. A battle for the ball will ensue. This will be known as the Grav-Faceoff. Since lag differs some players may see the ball there before others but any blatant “jump” on the ball will result in that player being summoned back to their spawning point. The game won’t be restarted, just the players will have to get back into position and there will be a *getball out of map, *timer 0, *wipe all, *getball, *timer 15 done. Don’t jump on the ball!

- Any time a team scores it will be “losers ball.” The ball will be summoned into the defensive area and the “losing” team will only be allowed to pick the ball up. If they fail to pick the ball up and it spawns in the center of the map again, it is any team’s ball. If the team who scored somehow picks the ball up then the “losing” team will have the ball summoned into their offensive area and the same deal will happen there. They either get it or battle for it until it spawns center.

- Anything goes as far as specials are concerned in this league. Chuckers, huckers, and berserks! We may even have rocket rains from time to time depending on the captain’s agreements before games.

- The lag limits are 250ms ping and 1.0 ploss.

- If a player is over the lag limit he will not be allowed to play. If he reaches that point during a game he will be specced and subbed. There will also be visual lag specs and goals removed for lag but it will be all referee judgment. They will be ref each game to the best of their ability.

- There will be cut lines to thwart stalling in this league. The rule for the cut line will be that once you pass the line you have a chance to pass back over it but if a pass is made after crossing the line and caught then the team may not pass back over the cutback line. Going back over the line once the rule is in effect will result in the ref *getballing it. This goes for either the ball OR the player with the ball crossing the line. Even if the ball is forced back over with specials it will still go to the defense that forced it. If the ball gets stunned over the line the rule doesn’t go into effect unless the team who got stunned recovers and makes a pass to someone who also crossed. At this point the ball can still be passed back over the line with no penalty. If the rule is in effect and the offensive team is pushed back over, the ball is stunned back over or anything to that extent the ball will be given to the defensive team, *getballed into their D zone. Once it is summoned there the team who won the ball will only be allowed to pick it up unless enough time goes by for it to spawn midfield.

- The cut back rule also goes into affect or is broken if the line is touched. It doesn’t have to go all the way over.

- Once the 15 minute timer expires the game will be ended, stats taken, and overtime will start. In overtime there will be 4 versus 4 offense defense battles that each will be timed. All the players will be summoned to specific spots on the map and will wait for the ref to *wipe all, *getball, and *timer :30 seconds. Each team will have 3 shots at offense and defense. Once all three are completed whoever scored the most goals wins. If it is tied then the next goal will win but if the team who scored that goal went first the other team will have a chance to tie it and it will go on this way until there is a winner.

- When time is winding down In regulation or in an OvD if a shot leaves the bike before the timer expires then this shot will count if it goes in.

Playoffs: As of right now the exact format of the playoffs is to be determined.
