 Patch News

 Posted By: crimson |
From Military Police
"Infantry Evolved seems like a fitting title as the third installment in our news series with Continuity and Reloaded, heh. I'd like to announce news that players have been keenly awaiting. Satori and I have been pushing for this for quite some time and we're now expecting the implementation of the patch very soon. It'll be great to have games characterized by equal competition again and no hacker crashes. I'd like to thank Jeff Petersen for taking time out of his schedule to work on this patch. I'm not sure if you'll see him in the game at all, but if you do, please extend to him the appreciation that he deserves. Thanks to the community for being patient." |

 Regarding tonight's preseason games
|
 Sunday, January 24, 2010 04:24 PM |
 Posted By: yumy |
The current plan is to continue the matches tonight as scheduled. As most of you know, there has been continuous issues this weekend with the infantry servers crashing due to a hacker. If the servers are not up, or are in SAM mode when the first games start at 7pm EST, we will postpone all of this week's matches. Also, if the servers do go down at some point during the matches, we will also stop play there and postpone any remaining games.
We figure this way that at least people won't have to be waiting around all night if it looks like the games will not be able to be played. |

 GBPL Update
|
 Sunday, December 20, 2009 12:39 PM |
 Posted By: DuneBug. |
The regular season of GBPL will start next Sunday, December 27th. I know this is close to Christmas and some people may not be able to make it. But it's only one week, so we'll see how it goes. If there are forfeits we'll allow rescheduling to a midweek game. THIS Sunday we'll have a sort of pre-season. There are no set matches between squads because I though it was too short notice. But if you show up with your GBPL squad we'll get a match going. If not it'll just be scrims. Show up around 7:00 PM EST and we'll see what we can get going. The updated JvO map won't be up until Monday, so we won't get to use that. You can at least see the pic here: http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/8203/gbpljvsotweaked.png |

All of those who were active during the regular IGBL season (14) should still have their pemits. If you are in need of one, please message Kuja or Bok'choy in game or on the website.

From this thread started by Dunebug: The draft has started;
You can check it out at http://gbpl.gravball.net/draft
there's a link in the news page on http://gbpl.gravball.net
The turn order is Allustrious, Dain (Allanon), Rainer, then Papa (FUCK). It's a snake draft.
You have to be logged in to view the draft page. And I don't think you can register during the draft... I'll have to check on that. Accounts set to 'inactive' in the player list are not draftable. It's gonna be a multi-day process. Pop into the live chat anytime to witness proceedings and cuss out your fellow GB'ers. |

 IGBL Season 14 BagMan Cup match - December 13th - 7:00 PM
|
 Tuesday, December 08, 2009 12:23 PM |
 Posted By: Beelzebub |
After a hard fought season involving new rules, and skill division component for tougher opposition, it's all boiled down to the final match. Hooligans, last season's holders an undefeated season 13 regular season record, but who were upset by an underdog opponent in the semi-finals now find themselves in the Cinderella position: A squad who began the playoffs seeded 6th and in division II, beating 3 opponents, including undefeated "The Federer Reserve", and sporting a perfect 8-0 playoff record along the way.
Hooligans face off against Rare, recently season 10 and 12 champions who punched their ticket into the final with a close 1 goal difference game 5 victory over "etc". After a tough start, and some roster turmoil they've been playing hard to prove they still have the right stuff.
Shaping up to be a highly entertaining final, with two squads well known for their elite players with a reputation of pulling off clutch & spectacular plays.
7:00PM - BagMan Cup championship Rare vs. Hooligans
7:00PM - Pirates' Jug final Amateur Hour vs. Godsend |

|
 Sunday, October 25, 2009 11:13 PM |
 Posted By: Slick |
As always, IGBL is in need of new referees who are willing to help give back to the community. Reffing games isn't much different from observing them. It's not a tough job and most of you are on anyways Sunday night to play your match and maybe watch one or two.
The more people that sign up, the easier it is for everyone.

"Superjump" exploit rule + council news
|
 Sunday, October 04, 2009 05:08 PM |
 Posted By: Beelzebub |
-If a player gains a "super jump" to enter goal zone by clipping the edge of a wall, any goal scored by means of this exploit will not count. Ref will grant ball possession to defending team using runclock rule #4 procedures.
Some people have been abusing this lately, it's an exploit plain and simple. Don't try it in league, and you shouldn't be doing it in scrims or pub either. Cheating is lame and disrespectful to everyone.
In other news, Seth resigned his council duties. He's been replaced by Cruel. |

We decided to go ahead and start preseason this week, despite being in the process of making the final decisions and final touches to the league zone. League zone settings may change later this week or next week, but we figured it was better to just start now and get this season rolling. Please schedule your matches on the public forum thread. |

 A reminder about stats.
|
 Tuesday, April 28, 2009 10:36 AM |
Posted By: Col. Kitty Hawk |
1. Both referees and captains are responsible for taking stats at the end of a game.
2. If a player disconnects and was not in the game when stats are taken, that player's stats are typically not saved.
3. Once stats are uploaded to the IGBL website, they cannot be changed.
4. All players are expected to remain in the arena at least one minute after a game, or until the referee announces that stats are taken. (IGBL Rules - Games: 6a)
The main reason I'm posting this: If anyone notices that a player disconnected (including/especially said player), stats should be taken again when the player returns, and saved as that player's name (i.e.: dain.txt), and sent in to either the match referee, Edd87, or myself AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Statistics are typically uploaded as quickly as possible so we don't have to do it later. The longer you wait to let someone know, the chances become exponentially higher that the player's stats will be lost forever. Please note: as soon as a referee uses the *wipe all command, it is impossible for previous stats to be saved.
Also, do not abuse this and tamper with stats if this occurs. If caught, not only will we stop allowing player sent-in stats, but other penalties may be created. It's just not worth wasting your time and ours. Thank you. |
